Zav LeVenity

Zav is an astounding teacher who exemplifies greatness through his clever examples of sharing and showing our youth how to apply themselves throughout life, particularly in the realms of education and entrepreneurship. Zav graduated from Laurence D. Bell High School in Hurst, TX, in May 2000, and later attended Prairie View A & M University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine in May 2004. In 2005, while pursuing his Master’s degree, Xavier began working in the NFL for the Houston Texans as an Athletic Trainer, where he remained for two years until he earned his Master of Science in Education from Prairie View A & M University in December 2006. 

Teaching has always been Zav's dream career, and he has ample determination to apply his education toward his endeavors. In 2007, he started working in the field of education as an Area Coordinator for Group Excellence and began teaching for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) the same year. As Area Coordinator, Zav supervised over 30 tutors and supervisors, wrote math curriculum for grades 6-11, managed the math departments of three middle and three high schools, and tutored students from grade 6 through 12 for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Test (TAKS). He also supported math teachers in their classrooms and taught TAKS math classes for grades 6-12 while working in Title 1 schools.

Zav's contributions to DISD saw him promoted to teaching Algebra to high school students and leading after-school programs in Public Speaking and Interview Techniques. Still currently working as a teacher in DISD, Zav has paved the way for many of his students and serves as a notable positive role model.

Since November 2010, Zav has been the Creative Director and Editor-in-Chief of Platinum Urban Magazine, a Dallas-based publication that highlights fashion, lifestyle, art, and culture from an urban perspective. In this role, Xavier has proudly brought numerous celebrities into the spotlight, such as Paul Wall, Fat Pimp, Lil Rony, and many others. He was instrumental in making Platinum Urban Magazine available in Walmart stores and directed its first commercial, as well as ad placements within the stores.

Additionally, Zav established LEVENITY Collection LLC, an advanced-contemporary women’s ready-to-wear sportswear brand launched in Dallas, TX, in 2010. His involvement in entertainment and fashion allows Xavier to combine his passions while working with diverse individuals.

Through his commitment to "Learning the Tools to Success as Future Entrepreneurs," Xavier understands that the keys to success involve knowing what it takes to get there. He possesses the passion and skills necessary to inspire our youth and teach them the steps to success. Leveraging his education and experiences, Zav aims to equip the next generation of entrepreneurs with vital tools for success, presenting a positive example of leadership and the importance of following one’s dreams, proving that one can be destined for greatness regardless of their starting point in life.
